If our customers had asked us just a few months ago what we had in store across our staff restaurants and visitor centres we would have said “plenty”. Easter marks one of our busiest periods, filled with a range of special days, offers and Easter deals devised to entice and excite. We could never have expected things to change so quickly and so enormously just a few months ago.
While it’s been a month since the beginning of lockdown, we wanted to take time to reflect on the changes our business has had to make, but also to recognise the incredible resilience of our staff who during times of uncertainty have come together as a family and supported each other, and our customers through what has been and continues to be a difficult period for every single person involved in our operation- whether staff, customer, client or supplier.
On first announcement of the spread of Coronavirus, we put into action an incredible COVID-19 plan, which ensured the safety of our staff and customers. We were proud that each of our team members adapted their roles to suit this new way of working- and it is safe to say their actions alone resulted in the ensured safety of our customers.
When we were informed of the government’s decision to implement lockdown which saw the closure of many of our sites, it’s safe to say we were concerned. Concerned for the continuation of our business, but more so concerned for the welfare of our staff.
What we didn’t expect was the sheer dedication and commitment shown by every team member, who had and continue to pull together as one to fight the Coronavirus.
We have witnessed team members volunteering their time and efforts as we adapt our business to help those in need in our community, including supporting us in delivering food to vulnerable people, providing necessities across the community and developing emergency catering services available to all in South Wales.
Though this pandemic has changed the way in which we do business, and the way in which each of us live, it has shown that the most important feature of humanity is our ability to always come together and be there for one another.
Irrespective of the trouble we face or the uncertainty we all recognise by now, the resilience of our team and the passion of our customers will forever be valued by our business.
Thank you to each and every one of our employees who have shown time again their selflessness, dedication and determination. Thank you to our clients, who have and continue to support us and our objectives, and thank you to our customers who throughout this difficult time continue to show loyalty and support.
We don’t know how long this situation will last, and we can’t say for certain when we’ll be opening our doors to offer local and regional produce again. But one thing we can be certain of, is from now until forever, we will always be here to support our community, our employees and our network of clients and suppliers. That’s more true now than has ever been.
While we look back and take the time to thank you all, we also want to thank the incredible key workers elsewhere across the country, who like a lot of our staff, continue to work to provide for the country. Thank you to the NHS workers, delivery drivers, supermarket employees, teachers, police, fire service and every other key worker currently continuing their work knowing the risk they face everyday- your resilience makes us all strong.
Finally, we want to extend our best wishes to staff, clients and customers alike, and to let you know we will get through this. To reiterate government advice, and to protect us all, we ask you to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
Thank you
With love,
Just Perfect Catering
